Our Mission for SWRG:Our main objective is to have fun while broadening our academic experience. We work to encourage interaction among fellow students and with faculty who are interested in water resources. We have seasonal meetings, go on field trips, hold social events, invite speakers, participate in volunteer activities and attend conferences.
SWRG is recognized as a Student Chapter of two national organizations:

- AWWA Conference – Fresh Ideas Program - We have some information to share that comes to us from Corianne Hart a fellow PSU student who is also involved with the Young Professionals committee of AWWA. AWWA is an international nonprofit scientific and educational society dedicated to the improvement of drinking water quality and supply ( www.awwa.org/ ):
This year the annual Pacific Northwest section of AWWA ( Oregon , Washington , and Idaho ) conference will be held in Vancouver, WA at the beginning of May. During this conference there is a new program called "Fresh Ideas" where students present their projects in the form of posters. The top poster presentations will be awarded cash prizes of $150.00, $100.00, and $50.00 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. The local NW Oregon subsection of AWWA will provide airfare, lodging and registration (up to $1,000) for the winner to attend, and present his/her work at the international AWWA Conference and Exhibition in Atlanta, Georgia on June 8 - 11, 2008. This is a great way for students to get local and national credit for their work in the water industry.
