Kelly Creek is a stream which was restored in 2004 from a channelized stream into a meandering stream. We went out with folks from the Bureau of Environmental Services to see the site in its new design. We counted cobbles and got to know all about the restoration project.

The Bull Run Watershed is Portland's drinking water supply and closed to the public. Briggy Thomas from the Portland Water Bureau gave us a great tour of the entire watershed. We started out at Bull Run Lake and went downstream along all the little creeks, passing several gage stations until we reached the two reservoirs. Besides the streams and lakes, we also saw some wildlife such as deer and a bobcat. It was a great and very interesting trip!
